We had someone from a shipping company assessing our stuffs that need to be shipped back to Singapore when I am done with my Manila assignment. She walked around the apartment, gathering the information for her to estimate the shipping cost for our stuffs.
After the shipping person left our apartment, Rannie sat down and checked out the brochure of the shipping company. Nina followed and sat down too. And to her mom’s surprise, Nina said :
“Mommy, Nina doesn’t want to go back to Singapore.”
Understandable, she was only 1.5 years old when we first came to Manila. She is now 3.5 years old. Many things happened and lots of changes for her. She started her first school here and she also became more sociable because of interaction with many of my friends here, the expats group. When she was still in Singapore, when she met my friends or strangers, she did not dare to even look at them sometimes.
We have very mixed feeling about leaving Manila. We will certainly miss the place. I am sure Nina will too.
