Leaving Manila

It’s exactly 12pm on Sunday, 19 October 2008 when I started writing this. It’s exactly 6 hours before our flight back to Singapore this evening. And I am writing this with a heavy heart.

We first touched down in Manila on 11 August 2006 and after 2 years and 2 months, we are heading back to Singapore, taking with us lots and lots of memorable memories from our stay here. Nina has considered Manila her home. We have prepared her in the past few weeks for this departure by talking about it and explaining in a simple way about why we are leaving Manila.

We will miss Serendra, the Salcedo Saturday Market, Nina’s school the Little Gym, all the G’s (Greenhills, Glorietta, Greenbelt) and many other places. We will miss all the people with whom we have got the chance to interact and be friends.

Nina has certainly experienced and learned many things since we first came here. We are grateful for everyone who have been part of Nina’s development. Our friends, the teachers at the Little Gym Fort, her friends and many others. I am not sure if she will remember all these when she is older … but I hope all these posts and pictures and other memorabilia we have collected will remind her about her happy and blessed 2 years and  2 months in Manila.

This is my last post written from Manila as I am going to pack my computer right after this.

Bye Manila … till we meet again.
