The Very Best of Nina
We first posted the Voices of Nina almost a year ago in March 2006. So, that was when Nina was slightly over 1 year old. See the link to that post here.
Nina has been quite talkative. She has picked up many words and short sentences and is able to form her own simple and short sentences. She has also been able to combine words, like for example 'blue bus' when she sees one on the road.
She has picked up more Indonesian than English, but that's fine as we want her to be able to speak our mother tongue. But, she has indicated so far that she is able to pick up both.
Nina can almost count correctly from 1 to 20 in English now. She would count correctly from 1 to 14, and then jump to 17, 18, 19 and 20.
And ... Nina has been able to sing a lot.
One day, when our plane from Singapore just landed in Manila in early December 2006, she suddenly sang 'Jingle Bells' ... very loud that the passengers nearby us immediately turned their head to look at her.
She can also change the words of the song but still follow the tunes of the original song sometimes. And ... most surprisingly, she can do the rap version of the songs. :)
